Benefits of Membership

Share and Learn

The sharing and learning within this group is one of the most beneficial aspects of MAGC membership. By participating in MAGC events or using its email database, members can connect with a network of professionals who have specific communications skills (e.g. marketing, publications, websites, etc.) and are willing to share their expertise.

Professional Development
Each year, MAGC provides several opportunities for its members to enhance existing communications skills and keep up-to-date on emerging trends. Members can often participate for reduced or no fees.

Annual events include:

  • The Fall Conference, which provides a chance to sharpen your skills and meet your peers.
  • The Northern Lights Contest, which recognizes excellence and innovation in government communications.
  • The Northern Lights Awards Banquet, during which members are recognized for award-winning work and have a chance to network.
  • Daytime workshops and after-work events with guest speakers that combine learning, networking and camaraderie.
